Doctor in Geology from the Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU) and member of the Atapuerca team since 2000. Her research centers on the stratigraphy, sedimentology and petrology of the endokarstic deposits of the sites of Cueva Mayor (Atapuerca) as well as their relation to the surrounding geological deposits in the region. She is also a member of the excavation teams at the sites of Cueva del Conde and Herrerías (Asturias), Zarzamora (Segovia), Lezetxiki and Praileaitz (Guipúzcoa), Polvorón/Ventalaperra and Barrika (Vizcaya), among others.
